Baltimore struggles against decades of structural discrimination, economic dislocation, and the disappearance of work. Many Baltimoreans are locked out from opportunity.

At the same time, Baltimore is an enterprising city full of passionate and inspiring entrepreneurs. In neighborhoods across the city, entrepreneurs work tirelessly to make their communities stronger and more prosperous. They are the urban farmers growing healthy food for local restaurants, the coffee shop owners who employ neighborhood youth, and the innovators creating new tools to help students succeed in classrooms.

Unfortunately, these entrepreneurs often lack access to the know-how, financial resources, operational support, and networks to sustain positive change in their communities.

We place these entrepreneurs at the center of investment and economic development.

our mission and who we serve

Invested Impact works tirelessly with community partners, corporate sponsors, grantmakers, and mission investors to strengthen Baltimore’s economic and entrepreneurial ecosystem for underrepresented entrepreneurs and disinvested communities. We develop and promote strategies and programs designed to increase economic inclusion and expand financial and human capital for entrepreneurs and communities facing systemic barriers to economic empowerment and independence.

our approach

Our work converges economic development and social entrepreneurship:

We organize individuals and institutions who care about Baltimore to invest in building sustainable wealth and positive economic change in our city’s low-wealth communities.

We connect entrepreneurs from disinvested communities to financial resources, management supports, and strategic relationships to sustain and grow their impact.

We help community leaders bridge social justice and economic development.

We cultivate advocates for inclusive, community-centered economic development.

OUR focus

Baltimore has an opportunity to become a great city again; a city that works for all of its residents, not simply its most privileged. We believe Baltimore can be an innovator and national leader for inclusive entrepreneurship and economic development.
